Students were introduced to traditional art performances and crafts. After watching the Sichuan Opera, they learned unique techniques of Sichuan face-changing, which allowed them to experience the beauty of traditional arts.

Students were introduced to different ancient Chinese inventions such as paper making and Chinese archery, unfolding China’s extraordinary achievements in science and technology in the past 3000 years. They also tried building Chinese wooden bridges themselves in the workshop.

Mr. Vivek Mahbubani, who is a renowned comedian in Hong Kong, was invited to deliver a talk on the meaning of life on 12 July, 2021. During the talk, Mr. Mahbubani shared the challenges he faced as an Indian boy growing up speaking Cantonese in Hong Kong and how he resolved them. He also encouraged students to enjoy life and pursue their dreams.

Our school has been committed to promoting the inheritance of Chinese traditional cultures. Recently, the “Chinese Culture Experiential Learning Day” was held, which aims to bring up students’ attention to learn and appreciate traditional culture through watching traditional art performances and practicing traditional crafts.

After watching the Sichuan Opera, students could learn unique skills of the Sichuan face-changing, such as waving flags, changing faces, and performing conjuring tricks, which allowed students to experience the beauty of traditional arts lively and satisfying activities.
