S.1 Knitting Classes
16.Dec.2024

A session of knitting class was offered to each S.1 classes during early November.   Committee members and volunteers of the PTA and our Principal became the instructors to teach our girls the basic skill of knitting.  Apart from fostering home-school cooperation, the activity has also served a variety of purposes:

  • Arousing awareness mental health of our students: Knitting is a pastime that is useful to keep one calm and relaxed.  It is an important life skills to tackle with stresses in daily lives.
  • Fostering parent-child relationship: The girls knitted at home and sought their parents' advice.  This facilitated more communication between the parent and child.
  • Promoting self-directed learning:  After the classes, the girls watched the videos sent by Principal and searched for more videos on knitting online by themselves to sharpen their knitting techniques.
  • Cultivating the value of perseverance: Knitting is an activity that needs one's patience.  Our girls learnt the spirit of 'never give up' and gained a sense of achievement after completing the final product with their perseverance.

We hope our girls will share the warmth of mufflers they knitted with their beloved family and friends during the festive season.

We are fully committed to offering an all-round education enhanced with the Gospel spirit and the virtues of humility, respect, kindness and love.
