The Community Youth Club

The Community Youth Club’s (CYC) motto is to “Learn, Be concerned and to Serve”. The Club provides students with valuable chances of understanding and serving the community. Club activities range from organizing training camps and leadership programmes to visiting community organizations and providing community services with a view to promote civic awareness and good social behaviour among Club members.

The annual charity activity “Greening for Chest” is a big success at school every year. All the proceeds go to the Hong Kong Community Chest. A bazaar is held at school and various products like handmade cards, bracelets, homemade dessert and drinks are sold.

Our former CYC chair- ladies and vice chair-ladies were awarded the Eastern District Outstanding Youth Certificates.

Below are the highlights of the voluntary work:

An inclusion project for people with disabilities

Volunteer work for South Asian ethnic children

Meal box delivery for the elderly

A drawing workshop for SEN children

Fun to cook with the visually impaired

CYC Greening for the Chest- Hiking Acts for Charity- The CYC sand-castle competition

Volunteer work for the elderly

  The Fire Safety Carnival

Our F.2 students participated in elderly service every year.

The CYC committee members successfully applied for a charity fund of “Disney Friends for Change 2017” for running a youth-led service project “The Untold Stories''. The project acts as an impetus to promote intergenerational communion, letting students develop their compassion and positive values through organizing different project activities.  Below are some of the highlighted activities:

The Elderly Academy – The elderly visited our school and learnt about Chinese painting and using computers.

Milestone of Kinship: The Graduation Ceremony of the Elderly Academy – The elderly enjoyed the music performance.
