Mathematics Education

Other than consolidating the knowledge in basic education, broadening and deepening their learning experiences, as well as further enhancing their positive values and attitudes towards mathematics learning, the latest Mathematics curriculum aims to meet the challenges of the 21st century by developing students’ ability to think critically and creatively, to inquire and reason mathematically, and to use mathematics to formulate and solve problems in their daily life.

The Mathematics Department has been conducting STEM activities with an aim to further develop students into lifelong learners of science and technology. Major objectives include developing a sound knowledge base among students, enhancing their interests in Science, Technology and Mathematics, strengthening their ability to integrate and apply the learned knowledge and skills like creativity, collaboration and problem solving to their everyday context.

The Mathematics Department organized two STEM activities for students.
